One striking feature of the 2014 African Achievers Awards which is in partnership with the Institute of Leadership and Management is the nomination of Hamza Mohammed Gado-Nasko as the ‘African Young Achiever of the Year’.
Hamza Mohammed Gado – Nasko, one of the nine children of Lt General Muhammad Gado Nasko, former military Governor of Sokoto State, is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HMG Group of Companies.

Perhaps as a precursor to the more prestigious African Achievers Awards nomination, the corporate mogul was recently conferred the Sterling Performance Young Entrepreneur of the Decade Award by the National President, Arewa Youth Forum (AYF), Gambo Ibrahim Gujungu.
According to Alhaji Gujungu, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HMG Group of Companies, Hamza Mohammed Nasko was honoured with the award by the AYF for being a diversified entrepreneur and philanthropist par excellence, who within a short period, was able to transform a business venture. He is also committed to enhancing the well-being of the underprivileged with emphasis on the youths.
Without doubt, Hamza Mohammed Gado – Nasko, an epitome of humility, great agent of positive change, philosopher and the African Young Achiever of the Year, 2014, deserves all the accolades. He has proven with his success story that even here in Africa it is possible for the youths to achieve their dreams.
His words: “We must look within ourselves because the greatest capital we have is ourselves. We must make use of the resources that are available and not depend on the ones that are inaccessible.”
An African proverb says that hands cannot cover the moon when it is bright at night and so it is with the distinguished Hamza Mohammed Gado – Nasko, a true son of Africa, a shining star and pride of his generation.
We are truly proud of you.
Congratulations!
