14th of Febuary is a known date to show love and affection; however, at the University of Lagos, it wasn't just a day to express love but to also determine who leads them for another one year through a voting exercise. Following the electoral process with viable candidates contesting for the number one student in the department, Oladapo Babalola's confidence and eloquence stroke him out as he sweatlessly emerged the new President of the 1st Department in the University of Lagos- Educational Foundation Department.
"His emergence as the President wasn't a surprise to me" explained one of the Lecturers "considering his brilliant contribution to the department since 100 level where he was class governor and represented the department in various educational, sportive and social competitions- i knew he would win" the lecturer concluded.
Oladapo , a 400level student of the University of Lagos studying Guidance and Counselling has held and participated in several leadership workshops and training equipping him for the task ahead. He is currently an Ambassador of Impact Your World Leadership Initiatives, the campaign manager for the person that won the faculty Presidential Election, Sport Producer at Superscreen Television, a social entrepreneur, blogger, public speaker and a counselor by training.
The day was wrapped up as he also emerged the Department's Personality of the Year.
