NOA Partners with Mike Omotosho led Roatry District 9125 To Change Nigeria

It is no exaggeration that the indiscipline that rules our lives today, distorting every moral value and threatening to transform our collective consciousness beyond recognition, has reached unimaginable proportions.

Yet undeniable is the fact that the staggering indiscipline in our public lives, manifested more openly in the chaos that ruled our bus-stops or citizens to line up or queue for high demand services, mindless littering and the turning of our streets into open garbage dumps, excessive noise, air and water pollution, corruption, etc.—persists today.
This growing lack of order in the Nigerian society is however seen as a major problem affecting our national moral character which has now sunk to more dissolute levels than it used to be. Impunity and indiscipline have long become a phenomenon of our lives. To curb this deficiency using the 4-way test, the Rotary Club Internenational District 9125 under the able leadership of Governor Mike Omotosho paid a courtesy visit to the National Orientation Agency of Nigeria.
At the visit that lasted for more than an hour, the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Dr Mike Omeri agreed that no Angel will make our country better but our love for d country should propel our everyday life. He acknowledges that change is a destination and everything we do should be channelled towards achieving that. “Right from childhood, I have been aware of rotary and their selfless disposition to humanity; however, I will also like to charge the District Governor, Dr. Mike Omotosho not to relent. I believe in the 4-way test and what it stands for and I also hope it can be engraved in d minds of people if they persist and continue with this aggressive campaign. To further demonstrate my commitment, I will join Rotary and find time to attend some of your meetings. I will also persuade my staff to join this worthy and time-tested organization. NOA has a number of programs but the one that is close to the 4way test is d patriotism and ethics first program. We have worked closely with many international organizations to come up with 40 basic truths about life. This program was introduced in2013 at the customs training school and also University of Abuja has adopted it in their programs. I am positive that with Rotary involvement as an official partner, we can make Nigeria great once again”

Rounding up the meeting, a committee was set up to come up with a memorandum of understanding between Rotary and NOA so as to drive home the cause of Change.
